Projects / Activities, The Academy

Updating ourselves to emerging technologies and imparting those technical know-how to our students makes our teaching methodology simply unique in all its sense.

In our academic meeting held in Trivandrum a couple of months before, all the experts / academicians had applauded our efforts in keeping our student abreast with the sophisticated technical advancements in the audio industry.

Today we are talking about a new technology the students had learned yesterday and it is wireless mixing with Soundcraft Ui 16.

Now tell us, which all are the other major exclusive sound engineering institutes in India, which trains students on this latest technology. As per our knowledge there is no such institute in the country and these type of training and training methodologies makes us the No.1 and exclusive audio engineering institute in India.

An year back we added Soundcraft Ui 16 to our line up of training equipment and introduced the new technology to the students then.

In the previous batch students got much needed exposure to this new technology but for them opportunity was limited for them in order to get hands on experience on the same.

Starting from the current senior batch students are provided with intense training on this new technology and guiding them to a digital yet a wireless world.

Yesterday the students had experimented the miking techniques with SoundCraft Ui 16 in the campus with one student on the vocal and the other on Guitar. When you look at the picture you can know that stereo miking technique has been used to capture the sound of Guitar.

Audio Cables can mess up the whole show.

With the advent of this new mixing technology the no of wires and connectors need to run a live show has been substantially decreased and above all it can be controlled using Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

As you all know the world is transforming itself to a wire free world and the sound engineering industry has also taken a big leap forward to shift from analog to digital. Eventually it will assist the sound engineers to get things done with less wires, equipment become extremely compact and light weight and the engineers can efficiently manage a live performance than ever before.

The Soundcraft Ui 16 can be connected to a laptop, mobile or tablet via Wi-Fi and control the whole show from anywhere within the Wi-Fi range offering immense flexibility which the traditional mixers can’t offer.

Why Sound Craft Ui 16?

Here are some of the features of the product.,

Compact Design, Multiple Persons can have full control of the mixer, Less space needed, Best suitable for wedding and other events, Sound craft Pre-amplifier Included and above all it is Solid Console.

Projects / Activities

An academy with a mission to create world class Sound Engineering professionals, who provide the perfect sound in sound studios, radio or film, we don’t abstain from providing maximum hands-on experience to students.

The training methodology of the academy is like what the students are learning inside a class room session must be adequately clubbed with ample practical sessions, providing them to have an in depth knowledge about the topic.

The second semester of our flagship course, 1 year Diploma in Sound Engineering and Sound Recording is incorporated with 80% practicals and 20% theory.

Last week the students who are specializing in Live Sound Reinforcement got the opportunity to test their knowledge by involving themselves in a Live Musical Concert held in an Engineering College in Trivandrum.

“If the instruments are harmoniously matched in a concert, the listening experience is a pleasure. If not, the listener is annoying.”

To prevent this anonymity from happening during the show and during the career life of students, they have been assigned with various tasks to work behind the scenes during the live music concert.

According to our CEO, “We do not only train in our own sound studios and practice rooms, but also travel with our students to the events with our line-up of Audio Experiments, which in-turn help the students to understand what all things are actually happening during a live show from planning, installation, how to perfectly handle a show and how to wind up the show”.

Students were quite impressed and were excited as they have become a part of the audio installation of a big event.

Students expressed their feeling that, that it was an awesome experience for them as it provided the opportunity to work with the metal music band of Jhanu (Kabali Fame) along with other prominent ones.

Is it possible to shoot 3 short-films in a single day with no prior planning?

Yes, our students can and they did it !!!

Every year we are updating ourselves to new technologies, changing the course curriculum and discovering new paths for incorporating innovative practical sessions for students like setting up an audio recording studio, creating electronic gadgets etc

Last week a challenging task has been assigned to students to shoot a short film within the campus by giving more importance to sound aspects.

For the February 2016 batch, Who are about to start their practical oriented training in their second semester has completed the shooting, location sound recording, editing and final mixing in a single day.

Guided by our senior faculty K.S Ravi, has assigned the project to students one one fine morning without any prior notice.

Students got enthusiastic about the project and has been divided into 3 batches.

Students have scripted 3 story, shoot the film where students being the actors, they themselves handled the camera, recorded the sound using location recording techniques, edited the video and created the final output.

With the project the academy has envisioned that the students to practice boom operation for location sound recording, learning to record with consistent pitch and sound level of the artist and effectively record quality sound of the artist in a good ambience.

3 short films has been made on a single day, each having 3 minutes duration, by 3 batch of students and it was a mere coincidence that the film has been screened in the academy at 3o’clock in evening on the same day.

DSC02516After the screening the project guide and senior faculty KS Ravi has told that the students had delivered maximum effort during the production and used their talents in creating the movie.

He expressed that 3 short-films which the students produced with limited time and resources has been exceptional with regard to its content and technical aspects.

Students, do expect to perform these type of innovative projects as part your 1 year Diploma in Sound Engineering and Sound Recording.
