Students of Diploma in Sound Engineering February Batch 2016 revealed their first electronic project in the academy.
In one of the previous post we had mentioned that from our new batch (February 2016) on-wards we have started giving projects related to various fields of Sound Engineering during the start of Diploma in Sound Engineering.
One of the first project which was given to our students was related to Audio Electronics.
The project was to develop a device which can AC current. Audio Electronic Department headed by Mr Sanal Kumar had explained the process of making the gadget on day of introduction session of the course and students had brought their fully finished device on the third day after the course has been officially started on February.
It was a novice experience to students to develop an electronic device which is useful for the common man with simple steps explained by Mr. Sanal Kumar.
A session has been conducted in the academy to reveal the project where in students had explained how they developed the device and what they have learned from the effort they have put in making this product.
For our course curriculum for diploma in sound engineering, audio electronics is an inevitable section where in the students will be learning all basic technical know-how regarding how to handle, repair and maintain electronic equipment.
You might be wondering what is the need to study electronics for learning Sound Engineering.
It is just because, when students start their career in the field of Sound Engineering they will deal with lots of electronic equipment, a basic knowledge electronics will help them in tackle issues arising with electronic equipment.
Many of the student who have already passed out of the institution tell that a basic knowledge in audio electronics helped in tackling real world situations.
The Diploma Students (Senior Batch) got hands on experience on what they are supposed to work in the real world.
In the past couple of week they learned how to conduct a live programs especially music band show both inside a building as well as in an open environment.
This week students are continuing with their music production and recording sessions. Students are supposed to record 5 different types of instruments including vocal.
In the previous batch on-wards students record and mix the composition of professionals rather than their own compositions, just like what it is happening in the real world. Professionals bring in their compositions record, edit and mix it with students.
This year students have learned sound design, editing, and mixing techniques with support from professionals
The session is fully organized by the students by finding out professional artists for vocal and for playing instruments like guitar, flute, tabla etc
After completion of 3 days of busy schedule in music production and recording in the campus, students got a broad understanding in the field of music production, and got hands-on experience to gain skills and technology which is necessary to become a professionals in the motion pictures, television and music industries.
As part of their academic project, last week students of 1 Year Diploma in Sound Engineering has conducted a live sound reinforcement session with a music band.
In the session all the necessary things needed to successfully run the session like installation, sound check, mixing etc has been done by the students itself.
This academic project has given a great exposure to students in setting up a real world live performance. Students has been provided with latest / advanced equipment to run the live show which is organized within the campus itself.
These type of live projects will definitely benefit the students who are passing out of the academy to work with any type of events irrespective of how massive it is.
Our students who have passed out of the institution and working with various live sound companies around the world do share the view that these type of live projects has helped them in a big way when they started working.
The post production project of the batch is over and they are now working on music production project by using the sophisticated facilities available in the studios setup in the Sound Engineering Academy.
