It is been experienced that lots of students choose Sound Engineering as a career after lot of soul searching always seems skeptical whether they are making the right career choice. But for a few sound engineering / music production is their passion and they want to live for it besides that for the second category of people career opportunities knocks now and then.
Today we are talking about our alumni student Tony Joseph Achenkunju, who passed out of the academy after completing 1 year Diploma course on August 2016 and frankly speaking he is an individual who falls under the second category of persons mentioned above.
A certified Guitarist (Grade – 3 from Trinity College, London), a music enthusiast and now an SEA certified Sound Engineer, he has focused on music production during his Diploma Course in the academy and started his career in the same field within no time.
Hailing from Uliyakovil, Quilon he acquired and refined his skills in Music Programming, Music Arrangement, Audio Sweetening, Acoustic Design & Treatment, Music Composition, Studio Recording and Mastering during the 1 year Diploma course in Sound Engineering and Sound Recording
On completion of the course he has joined the Resonance Studios in Bengaluru and impressed by the talents and performance of Tony, the company later transferred to their branch in Mumbai where tony received more opportunities to hone his skills in the field of Music Production.

So far, Tony’s career path has proved that an individual’s persistent efforts can bring success in the field which he / she is passionate about, yes, there will be hurdles in between but stay focused till you fulfill your ambition.
While talking with Tony about his career, he was quite excited to share details about his current projects and was happy share his working stills and music videos.
It was our CEO AR. Vishnu, who has suggested to talk with Tony with regard to his career and current position after Tony’s parents had visited the academy. Tony’s parents were grateful to academy for providing adequate support in fulfilling the ambition of their son to develop a career in the field of Music Production.

On asking about the course, tony has shared the fact that he was active in various post-production processes of the short-film ‘Alice’ which was directed by Binendra Menon and produced by the academy moreover he had got the opportunity to get hands-on experience in tools like Yamaha O2R, YamahaO296, Digidesign Pro-Control, Pro-tools 10 HD, Logic Pro x, Plugins for ProTools during the course.
Apart from that he had got the opportunity to get involved in the music production processes for a song, ‘Shadow‘ by Perfect Equation Band (A band from Cochin, Kerala, playing experimental and progressive schools of rock music) and was involved in the event organization and engineering department behind a concert, held by the Kollam based progressive rock band named ‘Tricotri‘ as part of SEA Music Band Festival 2016 in Bharath Bhavan, Trivandrum.
While talking with him he said that the Academy has provided the right kind of education clubbed with adequate practical session in transforming him to a better music professional within the shortest span of time and he also added that the experience he received from he academy is worthy enough in moulding his career in the right path.
